All About Me
Hi and welcome to my website! I'd like to tell you a little bit about
myself. My name is Mrs. Gretchen Vance. I grew up in Morton, IL and decided I wanted to be a special education teacher while I was in high school. I studied at Illinois State University and graduated in 1998 with my special education teaching degree. I began teaching in the fall of 1998 but did not come to CJHS until the fall of 2005. In February of 2002, I married my wonderful husband. Shortly after that, I made the decision to pursue a master's degree. I headed back to ISU where I graduated in 2006 with a master's degree in special education. My son was born in the fall of 2005, just a few months after I started working here at CJHS. A few years later, in the fall of 2009, we were blessed again, this time with a daughter. My son is in 8th grade this year and my daughter is in 4th grade, so I know first hand about how crazy life can be juggling school, soccer, church, and life in general! I stay very busy as a mother of two, a wife, a teacher, co-director of the CJHS school play, and as a coach of the CJHS speech team. I love being a CJHS Wildcat and look forward to working with you and your child!! |
